Emergencies are Never Convenient

At SPECTRUM Optometry our patients are seen by appointment. We try very hard to stay on schedule and respect your time. Sometimes you will have last minute concerns such as losing your glasses, or realizing your last pair of contact lenses needs to be discarded soon. For that reason, we try to have some appointment times available to fit you in quickly.

Emergencies may be for Eye Infections (goopy eyes), Scratched eyes (pain), Flashes and Floaters (retinal detachment), or Sudden Reduced Vision, among many other causes. Even without a referral, if you have an emergency, call the clinic and let us know what is happening.  The reception staff will triage your condition and consult with a doctor.  We will provide the best direction for your emergency care.

After Hours Emergency Support

If you are currently an Active* SPECTRUM Optometry patient, or a local physician, you may also access our after-hours emergency support by calling 604-536-2050 and leaving a message with your full name, phone number and a description of your emergency. Please speak slowly and clearly and repeat your call back phone number.  The doctor on call will be immediately notified.  

* An Active patient has had a full eye health examination at SPECTRUM Optometry within the past four (4) years. When time matters your up-to-date eye health information is critical.
